After a weekend of crime that included three Brooklyn murders, cops are still searching for several suspects.
Although cops say the tally of criminals on the lam is about half a dozen, an NYPD spokesman said that the real number could be much higher.
"We’re looking for a lot of criminals in this city," the spokesman said.
Just before noon Sunday, police found a 58-year old man shot to death inside a Bushwick tire shop. Police said that a man entered the store and asked for hubcaps before firing at the victim. The suspect is described as being African American, 6’0” and approximately 40 years old.
Cops are also looking for information about a violent mugging inside Central Park Sunday morning. Police said a 26-year-old man was walking by Wollman Rink when he was attacked. A group of suspects stole the victim’s wallet and iPod and slashed his hand with a knife, police said.
On Saturday morning, a porn shop worker was murdered in what some think might have been a robbery gone wrong. Nimala Randunu, 54, was shot to death inside Video X-citement, a Brooklyn 24-hour sex shop, according to police.
Cops released a photograph of the suspected murder, captured from a camera in the store. The suspect is described as being a Hispanic male, 5’9” and 180 pounds.
And a 17-year old was killed Friday, when a fight among teens turned deadly. One teenager began firing at three other teens on Flatlands Avenue, police said. A 16-year old was shot in the shoulder, a 19-year old was shot in the calf, and the third, Shaquille Jones, 17, was killed.
Police are searching for the suspected shooter, who is described as a 17- to 19-year old wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants and his suspected accomplice a 19-year old wearing a red jacket and red hat.
Also, police are searching for a man they say groped six women in one day in the Baychester section of the Bronx. Police say the suspect approached women between the ages of 28 and 51 from behind, sexually assaulted them and then fled the scene. The man is described between the ages of 20-30, African American, 5’10” to 5’11” and wearing a blue hoodie and gray sweat pants.
