Cops look for parents of abandoned baby

City police officers are trying to find the parents of and identify a baby boy who was found abandoned in Brooklyn over the weekend.

At about 2 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a 911 call about a baby found in the foyer of a building on 62nd Street in the Sunset Park neighborhood. The baby had been discovered by a woman taking out her trash.

Once they arrived, police discovered a Hispanic baby boy, about two to three months old, sitting in a car seat on the foyer floor. A diaper bag holding diapers and formula was found on the floor next to him.

The infant was transported to Lutheran Hospital, where he was in stable condition yesterday.

Police canvassed the area where he was found but could not find the parents. Officials are asking anyone with information to call 800-577-TIPS.
