Police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left a 25-year-old Queens man dead early Monday morning.
Manuel Campoverde was struck in the eastbound lane of 34th Avenue near Junction Boulevard in Jackson Heights shortly before 2 a.m., police said.
He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A witness described the vehicle as a small black sedan being operated by a man with a light complexion, police said.
Campoverde was just a few blocks away from his home when he was hit.
