Cops seek suspect who set car on fire in Queens

Police are searching for a man they say set a car on fire and started several other smaller fires in a Queens neighborhood early Sunday morning.

The vehicle, a 2007 Mercury Mariner, was discovered on fire in the vicinity of 49th Street and 39th Avenue in Woodside at approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, police said.

Four subsequent rubbish fires were discovered near 49th Street and 39th Avenue and near 50th Street and 39th Avenue, police added.

Anyone with information in regard to these incidents or the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
