Police are searching for a man who they say shot a Staten Island woman in the face after she refused to give him her money.
The woman, 30, was walking from her car to her home in Port Richmond at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday when she was approached by the suspect, police said. The man displayed a gun and demanded money. When the woman refused, the suspect shot her once in the face and then fled, police said.
The victim was taken to Richmond University Hospital where she is listed in serious but stable condition.
The suspect is about 6-feet tall with a thin build and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt.
