Police are trying to identify a woman whose remains were found inside a burnt suitcase in Brooklyn last month.
Cops discovered the suitcase containing the remains March 23 at 174 Hull St. in Bed-Stuy. A fire had occurred at the location nearly 10 months earlier on May 9, 2012, police said.
The remains have been determined to be those of a woman in her late teens to mid-20s, between 5 feet and 5-feet-6. Police have released an artist’s sketch of the victim and are asking for the public’s help in identifying her.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crimestoppers website or by texting their tips to CRIMES (274637), then entering TIP577.
