A 25-year-old counselor at a mental health facility was brutally slain, allegedly by a patient authorities arrested in Roxbury hours after the incident Thursday night.
Police responded to 110 Ocean Ave. in Revere just before noon Thursday for a report of a fire and possible attack. While there, they discovered a small fire and a “large amount of blood,” said Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley.
The home is a residence for mentally ill patients and operated by the North Suffolk Mental Health Association.
A short time later, police found the body of 25-year-old Stephanie Moulton of Peabody behind a Lynn church.
“This was an extremely violent homicide of an innocent young victim,” Conley said.
Authorities obtained a warrant charging 27-year-old Deshawn Chapell with murder.
Authorities said he is connected with the Revere facility and arrested him at 30 Rockland St. around 8 p.m. Prior to his arrest, police found a car involved in the incident abandoned at a convenience store on Dorchester Avenue.
