State police are investigating the discovery Monday morning of a woman's body in the Delaware River near Delaware City.
Investigators said a crabber found the body of a white female in the river south of Pea Patch Island around 6:30 a.m.

Members of the Delaware City Fire Department brought the body to shore, where state police detectives responded to the scene.
The body was turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which will perform an autopsy in an attempt to determine the woman's identity and cause and manner of death.
