NEW YORK. Craigslist is projected to see its profits climb 22 percent over last year based almost entirely on the website’s classified sex ads, the New York Times reported yesterday.
The sex ads are worth an estimated $36 million this year after Craigslist doubled the price for them. The site also stopped donating the proceeds from the ads to charity.
Craigslist told the Times that it has done “the best and most responsible job of combating child exploitation and human trafficking.”
