Pennsylvania State Police reported that out of the661 crashes it investigated during the four-day Labor Day weekend,11 were killed and 262 were injured.

In comparison with last year's holiday weekend in which six people died and 262 others were injured in 746 crashes.


From Aug. 30 through Sept. 2, troopers cited 819 drivers for not wearing seat belts and issued citations to 111 motorists for not securing children in safety seats, police said.

Police said it also issued 9,149 speeding citations and arrested 351 operators for driving under the influence.Seventy-seven out of the 661 crashes, including two fatals, were alcohol related.
