Customer shot trying to stop robbery at Kensington restaurant

The shooting happened about 2 a.m. at Good Good Chinese restaurant in Kensington.

Police said charges will not be filed and the case is closed. Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting inside a Kensington Chinese restaurant early Tuesday.

 

A 50-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot while trying to stop a robbery at a takeout restaurant in Kensington early Tuesday.

 

The shooting happened about 2 a.m. at Good Good Chinese restaurant, on the 300 block of East Cambria Street, 6ABC Action News reported. A struggle ensued when the shooting victim, along with two friends, attempted to break up the robbery and the gunman opened fire.

 

 

One of the other customers managed to get the gun away from the armed robber.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment of two gunshot wounds.

Police believe a woman who was working with the armed robber also joined the altercation inside the restaurant. They fled in a dark sport-utility vehicle, possibly a Dodge Durango, according to the report.
