David Oliveras: Bronx man killed while riding bike

A witness said she though the car was going much too fast.

An 18-year-old man was struck and killed while riding his bike Wednesday night in the Bronx.

David Oliveras was hit just after 7 p.m. in front of 2430 Williamsbridge Road, police said.

According to cops, Oliveras was riding on the sidewalk on the east side of the road. While attempting to cross the street, he was struck by a white BMW SUV that was traveling northbound on Williamsbridge Road, police said.

A witness to the death, Marilyn Portis, told NBC News, "He wasn't in the street, he was by the curb. I feel like [the car] was going too fast, to hit him that hard."

Cops said they suspect no criminality in the incident and there were no arrests made.
