Milton authorities are looking into whether the mutilated body found in a quiet neighborhood was that of a North Carolina teen last seen about a week ago.

Investigators were in Charlotte trying to find evidence that could lead to the confirmation that a missing 16-year-old named Delvonte Tisdale was the person found on Brierbrook Street Nov. 15.

Tisdale was last seen Sunday.

Milton police received a tip from an out-of-state caller that led them to the teen’s Charlotte neighborhood. They also found a note in his pants pocket that appeared to be a hall pass from a school dated last month.

Relatives said they believe Tisdale, who was living with his father in Charlotte, ran away, which family members said he had done several times before, according to the Globe.
