Delaware County teacher charged with groping young students
District Attorney Jack Whelan's office is investigating whether administrators at Darby Township Elementary knew of allegations of inappropriate touching.
A Broomall man has been charged with groping three young students at the Delaware County school where he's taught for nine years.
Paul E. Hochschwender, 54, was arrested Wednesday afternoon following an investigation into groping allegations by a 7-year-old student at Darby Township Elementary School, NBC10 reported. The girl told her parents about the inappropriate touching in early March, also indicating a second girl had been groped by the second-grade teacher.
A 13-year-old girl also reportedly came forward to tell investigators she had been groped by Hochschwender two years ago.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan noted his office is investigating whether any administrators atDarby Township Elementary were aware of allegations of inappropriate physical contact by Hochschwender and students prior to the report earlier this month. He also noted all allegations thus far involve inappropriate touching on the outside of the students' clothing.
Hochschwender is charged with inappropriately touching students, corruption of minors and sexual assault. He is free on bail.
