Animal shelter workers say they rescued a dog that was beaten and tied to a tree in the Poconos last week.
The 3-year-old female "puggle" mix had bruises all over its body and was covered with fleas when it was rescued by the Animal Welfare Society of Stroudsburg, 6ABC Action News reports.
Shelter workers were able to identify the dog's owner through a microchip inserted in the animal.
