Get ready –- a strike may come. That’s the message the Realty Advisory Board sent building owners and managers this week, warning them to prepare for a possible strike by doormen later this month.
“I cannot stress enough the importance of preparing for the possibility of a strike,” said Realty Advisory Board President Howard Rothschild.
Over 30,000 of the city’s doormen may strike if a new contract is not reached by April 20.
If there is a strike, building owners were advised to do things like post strike notices to tenants in visiblelocations, get ready to close any public areas and cut back on cleaning, as well as arrange for alternate pick-up of packages such as UPS and FedEx. Building owners were also warned not to break ranks.
