Dorchester woman allegedly snatches a Red Line rider’s iPhone, fights him for it

A Dorchester woman is facing charges of unarmed robbery after Transit Police said she stole a man’s iPhone on the Red Line during rush hour Tuesday.

Around 8:30 a.m. yesterday, Danyelle Abrams, 35, allegedly shoved a man who was listening to music on his Apple iPhone, causing him to drop the device as the train pulled into JFK/UMass Station.

That’s when she allegedly snatched the phone from the ground, and jumped off the train.

Transit Police said the man chased Abrams, and eventually caught up with her.

“…A physical struggled ensued for possession of the phone,” Transit Police said in a statement.

Abrams handed over the phone when she realized Transit Police were closing in. She was due in court today.
