Dozens of flights leaving and arriving at Logan Airport were canceled or significantly delayed on Sunday morning because of poor weather conditions elsewhere.
Many of the delays were involving flights to and from the New York and New Jersey area as well as in the midwest like Chicago, where weather was causing significant delays, according to the FAA.
In New York, JFK Airport was closed for hours after a plane skidded off of a runway and into a snowbank at about 8:30 a.m., according to the New York Daily News.
JetBlue, the largest carrier at Logan, said on its website that due to the weather-related issues since last week it is waiving the change/cancel fee as well as the fare differences for passengers traveling between Jan. 2 and Jan. 6.
The status of recent arrivals and departures can be found on Massport’s website. Travelers should also check in with their airline before heading to Logan.
