Police said a 23-year-old drunk driver mowed down and killed a pedestrian before fleeing the scene in Queens Friday night.
Vishwanand Subryan, of Schenectady, N.Y., was arrested after allegedly striking a 59-year-old woman around 7 p.m. in Richmond Hill.
Police said the woman, Raj Chohan, was walking along parked cars on 117th Street when Subryan hit her in a grey Toyota Camry going north at 97th Avenue.
Police officers in the area apprehended Subryan two blocks away at 115th Street and 101 Avenue.
He was charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and driving while intoxicated.
