My family lives in East Falls near Ridge and Midvale avenues. Stranded yesterday with nothing else to do but survey the damage, they were kind enough to send over these photos.

Water from the Schuylkill crested around 2 p.m., partially engulfing the Sunoco station and threatening businesses along Ridge Avenue.

Mayor Michael Nutter and Gov. Tom Corbett chose the spot to publicly announce their relief efforts.

Both East and West River drives were closed, trees were down and many suffered power outages.

The pictures are really cool, though.
