East Harlem to be rezoned

Plans are in the works to rezone East Harlem, DNAinfo reported.

Community Board 11 is working on a “written narrative policy” to be submitted to City Planning for approval, that would down-zone Madison Avenue to preserve the low-rise character of the area, but create a commercial district along Park Avenue, as well as allow for taller buildings in exchange for permanent affordable housing.
