Elderly man killed by MBCR train

An elderly man was killed by an inbound commuter rail train at the West Newton station at 7:45 a.m. yesterday. MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said Transit police and the Middlesex County DA’s office are investigating the death of the 74-year-old man who was on the railroad tracks.
Service on the Framingham-Worcester line was suspended as passengers were bused between Wellesley Farms and Newtonville. The T warned of significant delays and asked customers to seek alternate transportation if possible.
