Eliot Spitzer’s new ad asks for voter’s forgiveness

Asking voters for their forgiveness, Eliot Spitzer released a new campaign ad for his bid to be the next city comptroller.

In the first few seconds of the ad, the disgraced former governor hints to his past mistakes–which include a 2008 prostitution scandal that forced his resignation–and admits he “failed, big time.”

The ad also boasts Spitzer’s past actions of fighting against Wall Street.

Spitzer proclaims that he’s ready to fight for New Yorkers again and has learned from his previous troubles.

“When you dig yourself a hole, you either lie in it the rest of your life or do something positive,” Spitzer says in the ad. “Everyone, no matter who you are, deserves a fair shot. I’m asking voters to give the same to me.”

Spitzer is running against Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer in the Democratic primary and is currently ahead in the latest polls.
