F-18 jets to fly over Hudson River in training drill

Don’t be alarmed if you hear a deafening roar and spot military fighter jets overhead this morning — it’s just a drill.

According to the Office of Emergency Management, two F-18 jets will soar over the Hudson River from the Verrazano Bridge to the George Washington Bridge sometime between 9 am and 11 am Monday morning.

Meanwhile, FOX 5 reports that people who live near the Indian Point Power Plant inBuchanan, New York might hear what sounds like gun shots, but officials say there is no cause for concern. While it’s not confirmed that the jet flyover is related, the plant’s security in the event of an attack is being tested today in a drill. Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems or “MILES” gear will be integrated into the drills, which will be conducted near the plant through Friday.
