A Facebook page called “Nassau County’s Nasty List” detailing the alleged sexual exploits of female students at Uniondale, Freeport and Roosevelt high schools was shut down after school administrators alerted police.
“We’re trying to investigate if there is any criminality,” said Nassau County Police Spokesman Vincent Garcia. “It’s a unique investigation, because it was done anonymously. We are seeing more and more cases of cyber-bullying because it never existed five or 10 years ago.”
A Uniondale High School female student admitted to knowing a young woman who was named on the page and said the information posted about her was untrue, disrespectful and hurt the girl’s feelings.
