FBI hunts for serial bank robber known as the Brim Beanie Bandit

The FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force is asking the public for help in their mission to identify a serial bank robber known as the Brim Beanie Bandit.

 

The Bandit, who scored the nickname thanks to his headgear, isalleged to have robbed four banks and attempted another in the greater Boston area between December 10 to 23. While he did not show a weapon in any of the robberies, but is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to the FBI.

 

 

He is wanted for robberies in Stoughton, Quincy, Dorchester, Needham, and Braintree.

Authorities say the Bandit is a white male, believed to be in his late 40s or early 50s, and approximately 5’7” tall and 150 pounds. In each situation,he enters the bank, approaches the teller, and either shows or leaves a note asking for money.

The FBI is offering a monetary reward for information leading directly to the arrest and charging of the robber. Anyone with information regarding the robbery should call the FBI’s Boston Division at (617) 742-5533 or the local police departments stated above in this release.
