The federal government seems to have a vested interest in New Yorkers not getting divorced.

In fact, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services paid for ads on the subway such as this one above, encouraging married couples to make their relationship work. The ads direct riders to TwoOfUs.org, a site run by the National Healthy Marriage Resource Center, which provides marriage tips and relationship advice.

The government-sponsored ads were put up in December in New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles.

In the past, the National Healthy Marriage Resource Center had put up similar ads in Chicago’s and Washington D.C.’s mass transit systems as well.
