Two days after a female Philadelphia police officer was suspended for allegedly initiating a fight between her daughter and other girls, and allegedly striking one of the females in the girls, another female city officer has been suspended for assault, police announced today.
Kathy Pugh, a 27-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department, was charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and more after an investigation found she attempted to assault a 38-year-old female this week.
Around 1 p.m. on June 22, officers responded to a fight on the 2500 block of South American Street. Officers found that Pugh, 52, of the 1000 block of South 18th Street, attempted to assault another adult woman. Investigators further charged Pugh, who is assigned to the Reports Control Unit, with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey suspected Pugh for 30 days with the intent to dismiss.
