A ferry carrying hundreds of sightseers to the Statue of Liberty made a hard landing at Liberty Island Thursday afternoon.
Though no one required medical attention, eight people suffered minor injuries, authorities said. Injuries included cuts, bruises and one sprained ankle.
All passengers have been accounted for.
It's unclear what caused the hard landing, but a Coast Guard team began an investigation following the incident.
"We are relieved that there were no serious injuries and we are working with the National Park Service to identify the cause of the hard landing," COO of Statue Cruises Mike Burke said.
