The Health Department wants you to quit drinking two beers ago.

Trying to head off holiday lushes, the city released ads yesterday imploring New Yorkers to ease off the booze.

“Stop drinking while you’re still thinking,” say ads set up in subway stations around the city. They show young people slumped and bloody, presumably done in by booze.

“Even two extra drinks can turn a good time into a disaster,” said NYC’s Health Commissioner Thomas Farley.

The Health Department seems alarmed by its recent survey reporting that one in 10 city hospitalizations involved alcohol.

In the November report, about half of New Yorkers say they drink alcohol — and nearly half said they were binge drinkers.

Alcohol kills 1,500 New Yorkers each year, according to the department.
