A passing Lower Merion Township police officer may have prevented widespread damage when he noticed smoke coming from a dry-cleaning business on Lancaster Avenue in Haverford early Monday morning.

The fire was contained to Bryn Mawr Cleaners after the cop spotted smoke coming from the building about 1 a.m., NBC10 reports.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The business' owners said it may take a few days to figure out what to do about customers' dry cleaning left in the store.

The cause of the fire, which firefighters say extended from the point of origin on the first floor up to the second floor, remains under investigation.
