Firefighters hurt battling West Roxbury fire

A fire tore through a West Roxbury home Wednesday night, injuring several firefighters and displacing eight people.

Fire crews were called to 32-34 LaGrange St. just after 9 p.m., and found the three-story home on fire, according the the fire department.

The three-alarm blaze raced through home, rising from the basement through the roof.

All six adults and two children who lived in two apartments made it out. One of the residents was evaluated on scene by Boston EMS.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital, one for smoke inhalation and one for a leg injury. Three others were treated on scene with an eye wash.

Investigators were at the scene last night to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Officials estimated the blaze caused $500,000 in damage.
