The wails and cries could be heard even after the limousine doors closed.

Hundreds of Simba Martin’s friends and relatives passed by the 21-year-old’s open casket yesterday on the way out of the Timothy Baptist Church in Roxbury where his funeral was held.

The service lasted about three hours and some of the mourners stood outside in the cold, light rain as music played inside the neighborhood church.

The pain and emotion was too much for some of the mourners who had to be carried down the front steps of the church.

“Simba,” some of the mourners wailed. “Why?”

No one has been charged with the murders, but 34-year-old Kimani Washington will be arraigned in Dorchester next week on drug and gun charges in connection with the shootings, authorities said.

Funeral services for 21-year-old Eyanna Flonory and her 2-year-old son, Amani Smith, were planned for today.

The funeral for the other victim, Levaughn Washum-Garrison, 22, will be held next week. michael naughton
