Fishtown's Columbia Avenue to add turtle, wolf and turtle statues

Turtles and a turkey and a wolf are coming to Fishtown.
The Delaware River Waterfront Corp. received approval to add public art along Columbia Avenue which they hope helps establish a physical connection between the neighborhood, Penn Treaty Park and the waterfront.
The bronze sculptures - one wolf, one turkey and five turtles - will be suspended above as well as below street lamps along Columbia and into the park. The sculptures will be designed by artist Donald Lipski. The art isintended to honor the Three Clans of the indigenous Lenape, a Native American tribe.
"Combined with new streetscaping and underpass improvements designed by Studio Bryan Hanes, the connector will tie the neighborhood to the water, and evoke the spirit and history—both ancient and recent—of Fishtown," according to its website.
