Former Manhattan Borough President Andrew Stein was sentenced to 500 hours of community service yesterday after pleading guilty to a tax scam.

MANHATTAN – Former Manhattan Borough President Andrew Stein was sentenced to 500 hours of community service yesterday after pleading guilty to a tax scam. Prosecutors said he masterminded a $2 million scam until he was arrested last May. “I was irresponsible in my financial affairs in not paying my taxes when I should have,” he told the judge.
