You may soon wish your cable company doesn’t show up for an appointment.
In a deal hashed out between the city and local cable giants Time Warner and Cablevision, customers are entitled to a free month of cable if a technician doesn’t show up in the promised time period, the New York Times reported.
The city negotiated the new deal, which has yet to be finalized, after the 311 help line received nearly 1,200 complaints this year about the cable companies. Customers would get a text message when the cable technician is en route.
