A pair of Jamaica Plain farmers are just weeks away from sprouting their first sky-high veggies atop the Boston Design Center.
Higher Ground founders Courtney Hennessey and John Stoddard plan to start growing in June, supplying produce to five Boston restaurants as well as a farm stand near the South Boston waterfront.
"We've been working on this for almost three years," said Hennessey. "Now it’s really happening. We hope to grow two tons of produce this year. It’s exciting. It's been such a growth for us."
Their farm's final fundraiser will happen tonight at the design center. Tickets are available for $100 on Eventbrite.com.
