Police in South Jersey are seeking the driver in a hit-and-run accident that injured a motorist who was helping a pedestrian he had struck and who later died.
The fatal double accident happened on Admiral Wilson Boulevard in Pennsauken about 3 a.m. Sunday, NBC10 reported. A man driving a van along the road's eastbound lanes struck a 31-year-old pedestrian, then was struck by a car moments after he exited the white van to attempt to assist the man.
A mirror was knocked off the hit-and-run vehicle. The gray side-view mirror belongs to the passenger side of a Ford or Mercury vehicle built between 2002 to 2006, possibly a Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable.
The pedestrian, identified by NBC10 as Victor Gutierrez, died at a hospital from his injuries.
