A horse is dead following a drive-by shooting in Lancaster County over the weekend.

The horse, which was pulling a buggy in Amish Country, was shot by someone in a passing vehicle, reports. The drive-by shooting happened in Ronks, in southeastern Lancaster County, about 9 p.m. Sunday.

The horse made it to its home, where it was found to be bleeding from its mouth and a bullet hole in its chest was discovered. The animal died before a veterinarian could arrive.


None of the five passengers traveling in the buggy was injured.
