The murder-suicide happened about 12:30 p.m. in Dr. Michelle Liggio's office on 7600 Maple Avenue, 6ABC Action News reports.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office indicated police responded to Liggio's family practice on a report of a disturbance. It was during that disturbance officials say Christopher Liggio shot his wife, 47, before taking his own life.

The doctor, who lived in Mount Laurel, had recently filed for divorce, according to the report.
