Ice cream truck hijacked at knifepoint in Reading

Police said a man hijacked a Mister Softee ice cream truck in Reading, held the driver at knifepoint and made away with $200.

Police in Reading are looking for a man who allegedly hijacked a Mister Softee ice cream truck at knifepoint Friday afternoon, according to a report from WFMZ-TV.

 

Investigators said the suspect jumped into the ice cream truck, threatened the driver with a knife and made him travel to another area, where the thief allegedly took $200 in cash.

 

The man reportedly jumped out of the truck near the 1200 block of Greenwich Street and fled on foot, leaving the driver uninjured.
