A North Philadelphia woman has been rescued after being trapped in her toilet for several days.

Friends and neighbors of the 93-year-old, who lives alone at 15th and Tioga, became alarmed when they were unable to reach her. A concerned citizen called 911 around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The fire department was able to gain entry into the home, where they found that the woman had slid into the bowl of her toilet. She had been stuck for two to three days, officials estimate.

The woman was taken to Temple Hospital with a piece of toilet still attached and is in stable condition.
