An inmate who was sentenced to jail just two months ago was killed by another inmate at a Boston prison.
The Suffolk County sheriff's office identified the inmate yesterday as 25-year-old Alexander Callahan.
Callahan was taken to Boston Medical Center just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday after "an altercation with another inmate," according to a news release from Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea Cabral's office.
There were few details released about the altercation or how Callahan was killed and prison officials said they were not releasing more information on the death pending an investigation.
There have been no charges filed yet.
Callahan was sentenced to jail in October for assault and battery and drug possession.
