Anonymous Instagram account @rats215 that named witnesses to violent crimes in an attempt to "expose rats," is believed to be the work of a 17-year-old, reports say.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported on Friday that an account on the social media photo-sharing website identified about 30 witnesses with posted pictures, police statements and testimony.
On Saturday, the newspaper reported that police officials were preparing a warrant for the teenager's arrest. The teen was not identified.
Officials are still unsure how the information was obtained, since most of it is not made public. Also, names of witnesses are not typically included in court-record filings.
The account boasted almost 8,000 followers before it was shut down last week, the newspaper reported.
