IL magazine, an Italian monthly, named Democratic candidate for mayor Bill De Blasio “Italian of the Year” in its November issue.
De Blasio’s face graced the magazine’s cover next to the the words “Mayor of New York” with the caveat, “almost certainly.”
The public advocate, who was born Warren Wilhelm Jr., is the grandson of Italian immigrants on his mother’s side.
The issue hits newsstands October 24.
