Isabella and Jayden were the most popular girl and boy names for newborns in New York last year, the city Department of Health announced yesterday. Jayden, the name of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s son, won for the second year in a row. Isabella pushed out Sophia, the favorite from 2008. Nine of the top 10 girl names were repeats from 2008 with one new arrival — Leah. The full list, including breakdowns by ethnicity is available at www.nyc.gov/doh.
