Jeffrey Lurie: Andy Reid ‘probably will’ coach Thursday

Jeffrey Lurie stated once again that he expects Andy Reid to be coaching Thursday’s preseason opener at the Linc.

The owner cited previous coaches, like Tony Dungy and Joe Philbin, who returned to the sideline almost immediately after dealing with tragic losses in their families. Lurie seemed to think, from his talks with Reid, that he would do the same.

“He’s so comfortable coaching. That’s what he does, he’s a football coach and I think it will be therapy for him,” Lurie said. “On behalf of all of us, he can take off as much time as he wants but that’s not what he wants. He wants to get right back in there.”

When asked specifically about Reid being at Thursday’s game, Lurie said, “I think so. We’ll see, but all indications are that he probably will be.”
