Jets star Braylon Edwards busted for drunk driving

Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested for drunk driving early Tuesday morning near the Lincoln Tunnel.

Edwards, 27, was erratically driving his tinted-window Range Rover at 34th Street and 12th Avenue just after 5 a.m. this morning. Cops pulled him over at 5:13 a.m. and he blew .16 on a Breathalyzer test of blood-alcohol content. That’s twice the legal limit of .08.

Edwards, who had a passenger in the car with him, cooperated with the officers, said police.

This is not the first time Edwards made headlines. He is accused of punching a friend of LeBron James outside a Cleveland nightclub last year, and was once pulled over in Cleveland for driving 120 mph in a 65 mph zone. Even though Edwards caught one of the winning touchdowns in the Jets’ win Sunday over the Patriots, Coach Rex Ryan refused to give him the game ball because he was flagged for taunting.

“We are very disappointed in Braylon’s actions this morning,” Jets general manager general manager Mike Tannenbaum in a statement.
