Vice President Joe Biden has some strong opinions about LaGuardia Airport in Queens, and he isn’t afraid to share them.

“If I blindfolded someone and took them at 2 in the morning into the airport in Hong Kong and said, ‘Where do you think you are?’ they’d say, ‘This must be America, it’s a modern airport,'” Biden said on Thursday.

“But if I blindfolded you and took you to LaGuardia Airport in New York, you must think, ‘I must be in some Third World country.'”

Biden made the comments during a speech about infrastructure at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station, where he helped unveil a new Amtrak engine.

“Why did we lead the world economically for so long? We had the most modern infrastructure in the world,” he said.

LaGuardia Airport is frequently criticized for its outdated facilities.

Last month, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced plans for the state to take over management responsibility from the Port Authority for construction at JFK and LaGuardia airports.

“LaGuardia Airport is ranked as the worst airport in America, believe it or not,” the governor said. “That is a disgrace, my friends, and it is unacceptable, and it’s going to change.”
