Jonathan Dailey: Family, friends take to social media to find missing grad student

Friends and family of a missing 23-year-old graduate student are scouring the city and have taken to Facebook and Twitter in an effort to spread the word about the disappearance.

Jonathan Dailey was last seen Tuesday night by his roommate at their 71 Gardner St. home in Allston. His roommate reported him missing Friday and Boston police put out a missing person alert yesterday.

Dailey, who is studying at the Boston Architectural College, only has the clothes on his back, a debit card and a phone that has been off or dead for days, his roommate said on a Facebook group dedicated to finding Dailey. His computer, glasses, passport and all forms of identification were left behind, his roommate said.

“His family is here in Boston with me and we have been exhausting our resources to try to find him,” his roommate, Miles Smith posted on the Facebook group.

Other friends have bombarded celebrities and sports figures with Boston ties in an effort to spread the word. Bruins star Milan Lucic retweeted a message about Daily Saturday afternoon to his nearly 29,000 followers.

The Facebook group dedicated to finding Dailey has nearly 1,500 members as of this afternoon.

Boston police described Dailey as a white man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and has a black stripe tattoo on his left bicep.
